Kreuztal station
Railway HistoryVictorian EraRailway Station
Anklam station is a neoclassical railway building from the early years of German rail infrastructure, listed as a protected architectural monument in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. It opened on 16 March 1863 as part of the inaugural section of the Angermünde–Stralsund line, making it one of the oldest still-operational stations in Pomerania. The building reflects the architectural ambition that 19th-century railway companies applied even to smaller provincial towns. Today it is operated by DB Netz AG and is fully wheelchair accessible.
