Apamea

Apamea Kibotos was a major ancient city in the Phrygian region of Asia Minor, situated at the headwaters of the Maeander and Marsyas rivers. During the Hellenistic and Roman periods it served as a key commercial and administrative hub — its epithet 'Kibotos' (Greek for chest or ark) likely refers to its role as a goods-transit center. The ancient site corresponds to modern Dinar in Afyonkarahisar province, Turkey. Little above-ground remains survive today, making this a destination primarily for those with a specialist interest in classical antiquity and archaeological history rather than general visitors.
