Astana Opera
Astana Opera opened in 2013 as the flagship cultural institution of Kazakhstan's capital, making it one of the newest major lyric stages in Central Asia. The building adopts a neoclassical idiom — a white domed silhouette and monumental facade that fits the city's broader ambition of constructing a purpose-built national capital from scratch. Its repertoire spans European opera and ballet alongside Kazakh national compositions, and the house has drawn international ensembles and soloists within a short time of opening. Evening performances in the full-scale auditorium, complete with stalls and boxes, define the visitor experience.
