Astana-1 is the main railway station of the Kazakh capital, opened in 1929 during the Soviet period. Operated today by the state railway company Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, it combines a passenger terminal with a freight marshalling yard. The station serves as the city's principal rail hub, connecting Astana to major Kazakh cities and the broader Central Asian and Russian rail network.
