Aufseßplatz

Aufseßplatz is a station on Nuremberg's U1 metro line, opened on 23 September 1975 as the network's eleventh stop. It served as the southern terminus of the line until January 1978. The square above is named after Hans Philipp Werner Freiherr von und zu Aufseß, founder of the Germanisches Nationalmuseum, though the station itself carries no architectural or design distinction referencing that heritage. Around 27,700 passengers use it daily, making it one of the busier stops in the city's southern districts; the station is fully wheelchair accessible.
