Burggasse-Stadthalle
Burggasse-Stadthalle is an underground station on Vienna's U6 metro line, sitting on the boundary between the 7th district (Neubau) and the 15th (Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus). The station took its current double name on 14 July 1958, the day the nearby Stadthalle events hall opened in the 15th district; the Burggasse half refers to a street named in 1862 for its sight line toward the Hofburg palace. Unusually among Vienna's metro stations, the structure carries a formal listing as a protected monument under Austrian heritage law — a rare designation for transit infrastructure. The station is fully accessible with lifts serving all platforms.
