Bärenstein

The Bärenstein is a 897.8-metre summit in the Saxon Erzgebirge, situated roughly two kilometres north of the village of Bärenstein near Jöhstadt. The entire massif lies within a protected landscape zone, and directly north of the summit a one-hectare nature monument preserves the distinctive rock formation and its immediate surroundings. From the top, views extend across the Erzgebirge ridgeline into the Bohemian side of the range. Well-marked trails make the ascent accessible for families and casual walkers, offering a quiet alternative to the more frequented peaks in the region.
