Alpnachstad railway station

Alpnachstad railway station sits on the Brünig line in the municipality of Alpnach, canton of Obwalden, and holds protected status as a regional Swiss cultural heritage site. The Brünig line, connecting Lucerne to Interlaken, is Switzerland's only narrow-gauge SBB route, and this station serves as a stop in the foothills above Lake Lucerne. The station also functions as the valley terminus for the Pilatus rack railway, one of the steepest cogwheel railways in the world.
