Bohmte railway station

Bohmte station on the Bremen–Osnabrück line was built in 1871/72 and opened on 15 May 1873, during the early years of the German Empire when northern Germany's rail network was rapidly expanding. The Gründerzeit brick station building is a listed heritage monument, one of the few intact examples of late-19th-century rural station architecture in the region. In 1900 a private narrow-gauge halt, Bohmte Ost on the Wittlager Kreisbahn, was added nearby, though that service has long since ceased. Today around 900 passengers use the station daily for regional rail connections; it is not currently wheelchair accessible.
