Konstanz station

Konstanz station, built in 1863 in neogothic style, is the city's main railway hub and sits directly on the German-Swiss border along Lake Constance. As a so-called Trennungsbahnhof — a junction station at a national border — it is jointly operated by Deutsche Bahn and Swiss Federal Railways (SBB), an unusual arrangement in Central Europe. The historicist building retains its pointed-arch windows and period masonry, giving it architectural character beyond its everyday role as a transit node.
