Limerick Junction

Limerick Junction is a railway junction station in County Tipperary, Ireland — despite its name, it sits roughly 5 km from the town of Tipperary, not in Limerick itself. As a key interchange between the Dublin–Cork and Dublin–Limerick lines, it carries outsized national importance relative to its modest facilities and sparse surroundings. It was originally known as Tipperary Junction, named after the nearby town. Passengers changing trains here often note the rural isolation: one of Ireland's busiest junctions, yet served by no significant settlement.
