Mitake Station
Mitake Station sits in the Okutama mountains west of Tokyo, operated by JR East on the Ōme Line since 1929. It functions primarily as a trailhead for hikers heading into the Okutama range and up towards the Mitakesan shrine complex. For Tokyo residents, it marks the practical end of urban transit and the beginning of mountain terrain.
