Okutama Station

Okutama Station is the western terminus of JR East's Ōme Line, situated in the far western corner of Tokyo Metropolis amid densely forested mountain terrain. Opened in 1944, the station today functions primarily as a trailhead for hikers heading into the Okutama lake district and surrounding peaks. Weekend trains from central Tokyo arrive well-loaded, making this quiet terminus a practical gateway from the city into mountain nature.
