Weidenthal station

Weidenthal station sits along the Mannheim–Saarbrücken railway line in the Palatine Forest and was opened on 25 August 1849 when the Palatine Ludwig Railway first entered full operation. Its 19th-century station building is a listed cultural monument, one of the few surviving examples of early railway architecture in the Palatinate region. For travellers on the line towards Kaiserslautern, it is a quiet stop amid wooded hills with little beyond its historical fabric.
