Bydgoszcz Główna railway station
Imperial EraEclecticism
Yogyakarta's Tugu station, built in 1887 under Dutch colonial rule, is the city's oldest and most prestigious railway terminus, its low whitewashed facade a recognizable example of colonial-era Java architecture. The station exclusively serves Executive and Business Class trains operated by the state carrier Kereta Api Indonesia, with Economy Class services running from Lempuyangan station roughly one kilometer to the east. Narrow-gauge trains on the 1,067 mm track connect Yogyakarta to Jakarta, Bandung, and Surabaya. Situated close to the Kraton palace district, the station is a practical gateway for visitors arriving to explore the city's sultanate heritage.
