Basilica di San Clemente in Santa Maria dei Servi

Santa Maria dei Servi stands at the southern edge of Siena's medieval hill town and ranks among the most important mendicant Gothic churches in Tuscany. Built by the Servite Order between the 13th and 16th centuries, its austere facade and three-aisled interior reflect the deliberate simplicity favored by Florentine-founded friars who spread rapidly across central Italy after 1233.
