The Belarusian State Academy of Music in Minsk is the country's leading music education and research institution, founded in 1932. The building is listed on Belarus's cultural heritage register. Alongside classical performance and composition, the academy has long emphasised musicology, folklore studies, and music pedagogy — fields deliberately cultivated under Soviet cultural policy. Today it trains students from across Belarus and runs a dedicated musicology research centre.
