Belchenflue

The Belchenflue is a distinctive rocky summit on the Swiss Jura ridge, rising to 1,099 metres about 7 km west of Olten. Its name derives from Belenus, a Celtic deity of light and healing, suggesting the exposed peak served as a cult site in pre-Christian times — a pattern common to several 'Belchen' summits scattered across the Jura and Black Forest. The cantonal boundary between Basel-Landschaft and Solothurn runs directly along the rock ledge. Well-marked hiking trails lead up through Jura beech forest, and the summit's open rock edge offers broad views across the Swiss Plateau and, on clear days, to the Alps.
