Cologne

On the site of the Roman castle Divitia, Archbishop Heribert founded this Benedictine monastery around 1003 - directly on the Rhine bank opposite Cologne Cathedral. The rebuilt Romanesque sections of Alt St Heribert belong to the twelve great Romanesque churches of Cologne.
