Blankenberg (Meckl)

Blankenberg (Meckl.) station opened on 13 May 1850, making it one of the oldest surviving railway stations in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Its classicist station building is a listed monument and marks the junction of the Bad Kleinen–Rostock and Wismar–Karow lines. While regular passenger trains still run on the former route, most of the Wismar–Karow line has been closed, with only occasional freight traffic passing through between Blankenberg, Sternberg, and Dabel.
