Blankenese

Hamburg-Blankenese station is a listed Gründerzeit terminus (Kopfbahnhof) built in 1867, situated around 13 kilometres west of Hamburg's central station in the Elbe riverside suburb of the same name. As a terminal station — a now-rare layout where trains end at a buffer stop and reverse direction — it retains the characteristic footprint of 19th-century railway planning. Today served exclusively by Hamburg S-Bahn lines, the station is wheelchair-accessible and acts as a practical starting point for visits to Blankenese's famous Treppenviertel hillside quarter.
