St. Vitus
Village ChurchListed Building
Bodø Cathedral is an evangelical Lutheran bishop's church built in 1956 and seat of the Diocese of Sør-Hålogaland in northern Norway. Constructed in postwar modernist style from concrete, it represents a deliberate fresh start: the city's previous church was destroyed in May 1940 during German air raids that devastated much of Bodø. The spare, functional building is now listed for preservation and serves as the primary Lutheran place of worship for the region. The interior reflects the restrained aesthetic of 1950s Scandinavian church design, and the building is fully wheelchair accessible.
