Bornberg

The Bornberg is a 520-metre summit in the Nordpfälzer Bergland region of Rhineland-Palatinate, administratively part of the Kusel district. It comprises two subsidiary peaks — the Kiefernkopf and the Trautmannsberg — separated by wooded ridges and drained by small streams including the Talbach to the east and the Reichenbach to the west. The isolated farmstead of Schneeweiderhof, a hamlet of the village of Eßweiler, sits on the slopes and is one of the few signs of settlement on the hill. Quiet forest trails make it a low-key half-day destination for walkers based in the surrounding villages, well away from the busier hiking routes of the Palatinate Forest.
