Brant Point Light

Brant Point Light stands at the entrance to Nantucket Harbor in Massachusetts, making it one of the oldest lighthouse sites in the United States — a predecessor structure was first lit in 1746, while the current timber tower dates to 1901. At roughly 26 feet tall it is among the shortest active lighthouses on the East Coast, giving it a distinctively squat profile against the harbor skyline. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987 as part of the Massachusetts Lighthouses Multiple Property Submission. A short walk from the Nantucket ferry terminal brings visitors to the base of the tower, where the view sweeps across the harbor mouth, incoming ferries, and open Atlantic water beyond.
