Benjamin Godfrey Windmill

The Benjamin Godfrey Windmill, recorded in historic surveys as the Chatham Windmill, is a wooden post mill built in 1797 in the coastal town of Chatham on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. It is one of the few surviving colonial-era windmills in the United States and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. A thorough restoration completed in 2012 returned it close to its original condition, making it a tangible example of late-18th-century milling craft in New England. It is primarily of interest to visitors drawn to colonial architecture and the agricultural history of Cape Cod.
