Cadet

Cadet is an underground station on Line 7 of the Paris Métro, sitting beneath the 9th arrondissement and named after the Rue Cadet above. It belongs to the original generation of Métro stations inaugurated around the 1900 World's Fair, when architect Hector Guimard's sinuous Art Nouveau ironwork became the visual signature of the network. The station's status as a listed historic monument protects its preserved early-network features from alteration. For most riders it is a functional stop; for enthusiasts of Belle Époque urban infrastructure, it offers a well-preserved glimpse of the Métro as it looked at the turn of the 20th century. Note that no wheelchair access is available.
