Istanbul Cevahir
Also known as: Şişli Kültür ve Ticaret Merkezi, Sisli Kültür ve Ticaret Merkezi
The Cevahir Alisveris Merkezi on Buyukdere Caddesi in Istanbul's Sisli district is one of Europe's largest shopping centres, with around 250 shops, twelve cinema screens and a sizeable food court. It opened in 2005 and at the time ranked as the continent's second-largest mall. The signature feature is a vast glazed atrium roof carrying the world's largest digital clock and an indoor Ferris wheel for children. Access is easy via Sisli-Mecidiyekoey on metro line M2. Turkish brands such as Mavi, LC Waikiki and Vakko sit alongside international chains; a large Migros supermarket in the basement is the obvious stop for food souvenirs.
