Kungens kurva

Stockholm

One of Scandinavia's largest shopping areas near Stockholm, home to one of IKEA's most visited global stores.

Kungens Kurva is one of the largest retail areas in Scandinavia, located in Huddinge Municipality about 15 to 20 kilometres south-west of Stockholm. It is best known as the home of one of the world's most visited IKEA stores. The name means King's Curve and originates from a 1946 road accident involving King Gustav V's chauffeur-driven car on the local road. Developed as a major retail hub from the 1960s onwards, the area attracts millions of visitors annually and is particularly popular for furniture and home goods shopping.
