Chelsea Art Museum

The Chelsea Art Museum was a small private contemporary art museum in a brick building at 22nd Street and Eleventh Avenue, in the heart of West Chelsea's gallery district. It also housed the Jean Miotte Foundation, named after the French painter of lyrical abstraction. Opened in 2002, the museum was forced to close at the end of 2011; rising West Chelsea rents after the construction of the High Line made the location unsustainable. The building has been repurposed and the museum no longer exists as a visitor destination.
