Dūkštelių piliakalnis II

Dūkštelių piliakalnis II is a prehistoric hill fort (Lithuanian: piliakalnis) near the small town of Dūkštas in northeastern Lithuania. Piliakalniai — earthen mounds with fortified plateaus, either naturally shaped or artificially raised — were used across Lithuania from the Iron Age through the medieval period as defensive strongholds and communal gathering sites; the country counts over 800 such sites. This second hill fort near Dūkšteliai is registered as an archaeological site but remains largely undeveloped and unmarked. Visitors encounter a quiet, forested mound well off the tourist trail — an uncommented remnant of early Lithuanian settlement history.
