Fukuda Denshi Arena

Also known as: Chiba Soga Football Stadium

Fukuda Denshi Arena, in the Soga area of Chiba, opened in 2005 as a dedicated football stadium and has been home to J. League club JEF United Ichihara Chiba ever since. With 19,781 places, 18,500 of them seated, it is one of the more compact J. League grounds but, thanks to the tight distance from stands to pitch, counts as one of the most atmospheric arenas in Japan. The name comes from the medical-electronics group Fukuda Denshi, which holds the naming rights; fans simply call it Fukuari. On match days shuttle buses run from Soga Station; out of season it is just a quiet concrete ring near Tokyo Bay.
