Kawasaki Todoroki Stadium

Also known as: Todoroki Athletics Stadium

Todoroki Stadium in Kawasaki's Nakahara ward has been the home of Kawasaki Frontale, one of the J1 League's most successful clubs, since 1962. The venue combines a football pitch with a 400-meter track and seats 26,232 after multiple expansions. The open layout with athletics track reflects a typically Japanese postwar stadium concept: multi-purpose use over a pure football arena. On match days the surrounding park grounds become a sky-blue camp of drums and choreographed chants, considered among Japan's most intense. The stadium has been gradually modernized, yet the character of a neighborhood football venue rather than a sterile arena has survived.
