Harmon's Covered Bridge

Harmon's Covered Bridge is a 41-foot wooden town-truss bridge built in 1910 in Washington Township, Indiana County, Pennsylvania, spanning the South Branch Plum Creek. Covered bridges became widespread across Pennsylvania from the early 19th century onward — the roof protected the wooden load-bearing structure from rain and snow, extending the lifespan from roughly a decade to well over a century. Of the many covered bridges that once dotted Indiana County, only four survive today, making this a rare example of rural engineering heritage. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, it sits in a wooded creek-valley setting that draws visitors year-round, particularly during the fall foliage season.
