Iglesia de San Miguel Arcángel

The Iglesia de San Miguel Arcángel is a Roman Catholic church in central Madrid, constructed between 1739 and 1746 under Philip V, the first Bourbon king of Spain. Its design — attributed to Italian architect Giovanni Battista Sacchetti — features a distinctive convex facade that is rare in Madrid and reflects the influence of the Roman High Baroque. The single-nave interior is lined with side chapels and elaborate stucco ornamentation. Dedicated to the Archangel Michael, the church originally served the parish of a nearby market district. Today it is administered by Opus Dei and remains an active place of worship, open daily for Mass in the lively La Latina neighborhood.
