The Church of Our Lady of Victories in Prague's Mala Strana is world-famous as the home of the Infant Jesus of Prague, a small wax figure of the Christ child venerated since the 17th century that draws pilgrims from around the globe. The church was founded in 1611 and has long been managed by the Discalced Carmelites. The interior combines Baroque furnishings with an atmosphere of active devotion. The costumed Infant changes vestments several times a year and possesses an entire wardrobe donated from across the world. A quietly charged place amid the touristy surroundings of Mala Strana.
