Čech Bridge

The Čech Bridge spans the Vltava River in Prague, connecting the Old Town embankment to the Letná plateau, and stands as one of the city's finest surviving Art Nouveau structures. Built in 1908 and named after Czech poet Svatopluk Čech, the steel bridge features ornate cast-iron railings and sweeping curved forms characteristic of the Viennese Secession style that had taken hold across Bohemia in the early 20th century. It carries protected status as a Czech cultural monument. For visitors, the bridge offers one of Prague's most rewarding vantage points — the silhouette of Prague Castle and St. Vitus Cathedral frames the Vltava upstream, making it a natural stop at dusk when the city lights begin to reflect off the river.
