Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Warsaw

The Carmelite Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary stands in Warsaw's Wola district on Aleja Solidarnosci. Construction began in 1732 under the Discalced Carmelites and produced one of the few historical buildings in heavily destroyed Wola to survive the Second World War largely intact. The church marks the eastern entry to the Saxon axis and gained Neoclassical accents under King Stanislaw August Poniatowski. Known for its light, restrained stucco interior with a high-altar image of the Virgin. Today a Carmelite parish; entry free, visits possible between services.
