Molotow

Molotow has been a fixture of Hamburg's club scene since 1990 — a basement venue on the Reeperbahn that served as an early stage for bands like Tocotronic and Blumfeld before the Hamburger Schule movement broke into mainstream consciousness. The space is deliberately small, placing audiences within arm's reach of performers and giving the club a reputation as an antidote to arena anonymity. It has survived multiple eviction threats driven by Reeperbahn real-estate development, each near-closure adding another layer to its cult status. Today it runs live concerts and DJ nights across several floors, typically until the early hours of the morning.
