NACK5 Stadium Omiya

Also known as: Omiya Football Stadium

NACK5 Stadium Omiya is a dedicated football ground set inside Omiya Park, the green heart of the Omiya ward of Saitama. In use since 1960 as the prefectural stadium, it holds 15,500 spectators and counts as one of the most intimate football grounds in Japan, with the stands only metres from the pitch. It was one of the venues of the 1964 Olympic football tournament, where the Japan team beat Argentina. Today it is the home ground of Omiya Ardija in the J-League; the naming rights have been held since 2007 by the local radio station NACK5. Visitors reach the stadium on foot from Omiya station in 20 minutes, crossing a park dotted with cherry alleys and a horse shrine.
