Komazawa Olympic Park Stadium

Also known as: Komazawa Olympic Park General Sports Ground Athletic Field

Komazawa Stadium is a multi-purpose football and athletics stadium with an eight-lane track in Tokyo's Setagaya ward, the main venue of the Komazawa Olympic Park. It opened in 1964 for the Olympic Games, when it hosted football matches, and follows architect Yoshinobu Ashihara's clean concrete lines, with a freestanding canopy roof and symmetric stands. Today its capacity is around 20,000. It now serves mainly amateur and women's football, rugby and American football fixtures and athletics meets. Visitors walking through the Olympic Park can often enter the stadium for free, watch training sessions and, in summer, school sports festivals on the field.
