Park Morskie Oko

Park Morskie Oko sits in the Mokotow district of Warsaw and is named after the famous mountain lake in the High Tatras. Its ten or so hectares cover the steep Vistula escarpment between Pulawska and Belwederska streets and were redesigned in 1958 on the remains of a pre-war estate. Three terraced ponds linked by small streams are its signature feature, framed by old poplars and weeping willows. The park is the preferred outing for the residents of Old Mokotow and is listed in the Polish register of immovable heritage. Families come with strollers, retirees feed the ducks, and in summer quartet ensembles occasionally perform on the small concert shell.
