Fritz Schloß Park

Fritz-Schloss-Park is a nine-hectare public green space in Berlin's Moabit district. It was laid out from 1955 on a rubble hill made of debris from bombed-out tenements, making it a typical product of post-war West Berlin, and is named after the Social Democratic politician Fritz Schloss. Today it holds sports pitches, a hard court, play areas and a gentle mound from which on clear days you can see as far as the former Congress Hall. Locals use it for running, kickabouts and short breaks between Moabit's housing blocks; for travellers it is mainly interesting as an honest piece of Berlin reconstruction.
