Rhine Promenade

Liked by

Cologne's Rhine Promenade is a five-kilometer riverside path along the left bank of the Rhine, running from the Zoobrücke in the north to the Severinsbrücke in the south — free, open around the clock, and the city's most-used recreational corridor. Cyclists, joggers, and inline skaters share the wide path with beer garden regulars and Kölsch-sipping kiosk crowds. The view upriver — cathedral, Hohenzollernbrücke, and the Altstadt skyline in a single frame — is arguably Cologne's defining cityscape, requiring no admission and no climb. On summer evenings the stone embankment steps fill with locals treating the riverfront as an open-air living room.

From the main station down to the southern quarters — views of the cathedral, the railway bridge and the crane houses.
