The Singapore Flyer is a 165-metre observation wheel on the Marina Bay waterfront that held the title of the world's tallest Ferris wheel from its opening in March 2008 until April 2014, surpassing China's Star of Nanchang at the time. Each of its 28 air-conditioned capsules carries up to 28 passengers through a full rotation of roughly 30 minutes, with clear-day views extending as far as Malaysia and Indonesia. At dusk, the panorama takes in the illuminated Central Business District skyline, Gardens by the Bay, and the busy harbour below. Private dinner capsules and event packages make it a fixture for proposals and celebrations — the slow rotation and elevated vantage point set it apart from typical city observation decks.
