Gardens by the Bay

Gardens by the Bay is Singapore's flagship park, 101 hectares of reclaimed land just east of Marina Bay Sands. Opened in 2012 as part of the state vision of Singapore as a city in a garden, it is dominated by the 25 to 50-metre Supertrees with their vertical plantings and twice-nightly light show at 7:45 and 8:45 pm. Inside the park sit two climate-controlled glass domes: the Flower Dome shows Mediterranean and desert flora; the Cloud Forest holds a 35-metre artificial mountain with waterfall and cloud-forest planting. Both domes are ticketed, the outdoor gardens are free. Very family-friendly and especially rewarding in the cooler evening hours.
