Wasserfall bei Maria Martental, regional "Rausch" genannt
Known locally as "Rausch", this waterfall hidden in the valley near Maria Martental is one of the Eifel region's quieter natural finds, close to the small town of Kaisersesch. Reaching it requires a roughly 20-minute hike on a moderately strenuous forest trail that follows a stream through dense mixed woodland. The falls themselves tend to surprise visitors — noticeably larger than the modest approach might suggest. The surrounding area sits within a landscape shaped by historic slate mining, and the nearby Schiefergruben in the Kaulenbachtal valley make a worthwhile addition to the route. On weekdays the valley sees little traffic, giving it an unusually serene atmosphere for a rated tourist attraction.
