Танк Т-70

The T-70 was a Soviet light tank produced in large numbers from 1942 onward and deployed extensively on the Eastern Front, including the battles around Kharkiv. Crewed by two soldiers and armed with a 45 mm gun, it represented the Soviet emphasis on mass production, though it was increasingly replaced by the T-34 from 1943. This preserved example stands as an open-air war memorial in Kharkiv, a city that changed hands four times during World War II — more than any other major city in the conflict.
