A T-44 tank turret installed as a war memorial in Horochiw, a small town in the Volyn region of western Ukraine. The T-44 was a Soviet medium tank produced in limited numbers — only 265 were completed before the end of World War II, and none saw combat. Turret monuments of this type were commonly erected across Soviet-era Ukraine as local commemorations of those killed in the Second World War.
