Легкий танк Т-60

This preserved T-60 is a Soviet light tank from World War II on outdoor display in Volgograd, the city formerly known as Stalingrad. Designed by chief engineer Nikolai Astrov at Moscow's Factory No. 37, the T-60 entered Red Army service in September 1941 and remained in serial production until February 1943. Displayed in a city synonymous with the war's most brutal urban battle, the exhibit carries particular historical weight — the tank represents the early, desperate phase of the Eastern Front when Soviet industry scrambled to field any armored vehicle it could produce. Visitors can examine the vehicle up close, giving a tangible sense of the compact dimensions and light armament that defined Soviet tank design in 1941.
