Former private museum of Afghan culture in Hamburg's Speicherstadt – open 1998 to 2011.

The Afghan Museum in Hamburg opened in 1998 in the historic Speicherstadt warehouse district, presenting objects, textiles, and everyday items from Afghanistan. It was a privately run institution aiming to make traditional Afghan culture visible in Germany – one of very few museums of its kind in the German-speaking world. The museum closed at the end of 2011. It stands as an example of a generation of small diaspora museums that foregrounded immigrant cultures before larger institutions took up the subject.
